I (Jon) spent a Summer in Salzburg a few years ago and relished the beautiful surroundings, natural scenery, good food and friendly people. Sometimes I miss living in Salzburg and therefore plan on travelling there again soon with Maria.
Salzburg is a small city in Austria with around 150,000 residents. Salzburg is known for its stunning baroque architecture, history, Mozart and of course the musical that we all know by the name of “The Sound of Music.”
If you plan on visiting Salzburg, I can recommend (in addition to all of the castles, museums and other normal tourist spots) a day trip up the mountain Gaisberg. At a height of 1287 m, the ascent can take a few hours. However it is worth every step! Aussichten ist ganz wunderbar!
