Inredningsvis is divorcing the word marriage after last week’s wedding feature :) and starting the new week on a wonderful balcony. The first picture is one of my favourite balconies and I could easily wake up to that view every day. I actually don’t have a balcony as I live in an old ‘landshövdingehus’ (roughly translates to “Governor’s house”). However, there is a courtyard which is just adorable :) My previous apartment had a huge balcony, but I was almost never out on it.

It’s strange with us humans – often we long for that which we don’t have, and then when we get it, we don’t want it anymore. As I quoted last week, the grass is seldom greener on the other side, even if we think it might be. We have to quite simply begin by being thankful for what we already have, instead of always longing for that which we don’t have.

What are you most thankful for on this Monday morning???

Within interior design, I love the combination of old and new, a marriage of history and modernism, romanticism meeting minimalism. In addition, I have a burning passion for crispy silks, dark chocolate and long baths with a fragrance of lavender.

  1. You make a very wise point. I always am dreaming about things too and when I get there or them I’m not really a whole new person like I thought I’d be. You remind me to appreciate the fact that I don’t yet have a balcony. I would still love one though ;)

  2. This is a very nice inspiration dear! Love the balconies decored in this way! Today I’m grateful that I have internet as got some issues in the last days!:P Kisses and have a nice day Maria!:)

  3. Hi! It is called contentment. I am thankful for all I have everyday. Especially thankful for meeting new people through blogging, just like you. Have a great Monday.

  5. Good morning from California Maria,
Such gorgeous images and I so agree we need to start out each and every day being thankful. I have a little saying on my sidebar that reads…..

What if you woke up today
and only had the things you
    thanked God for yesterday?!

Thought provoking and makes one realize of all we are given each and every day.
Happy Monday to you and thank you for your visit and sweet comment on my blog post today about choosing paint colors,

  6. Beautiful pics, they look so inviting and tranquil. I am thankful for such a lovely day and for my new headboard. Such fun. Thanks for the visit and the gracious comments. Hugs, Marty

  7. Oh, what lovely pictures and they do make one feel calm and peaceful. Thank you so much for visiting my blog.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  8. I love the first photo especially. Thank you for visiting my blog and sorry I didn’t get back to you earlier but to answer your question no I do not have twitter or facebook accounts.

    Enjoy your day,

  9. Åh, så vackra bilder! Visst är det väl den här tiden – när man kan flytta utomhus på balkonger och altaner – som man längtat efter sedan i oktober. Och nu är den äntligen här! :)

Jag önskar dig en fin kväll!
    Kram Sofia

  10. I couldn’t agree more. I guess people tend to crave for what they don’t have and lose interest the minute they’ve acquired it. I guess the hunt for what we desire is more important. Right now, I do wish I have a balcony or a little garden (despite hating gardening). It’ll be the ideal spot during summer.

    Kram Sofia

  14. Such beautiful balconies! And you’re right! It’s good to be thankful for what we have! I am thankful for my family and friends!

    xo, sam

  15. I constantly crave outdoor space. I don’t have any at my apartment in the city but I totally relish in it at the beach house. We have a huge deck and it’s right on the water. I love to read there or eat outdoors. I just love taking it all in. :) xoxo

  16. Maria,
Beautiful pictures. Love all these shots and enjoyed your last ones too of the ocean. Sorry I have been so busy I haven’t gotten to visit. Just catching up on all your wedding things too. So much inspiration and good ideas!

I love your blog. Have a good week!
