Inspiration: Nya filmen Snövit

himmelssangar

We’re continuing with the fairytale theme with inspiration from Snow White and the Huntsman, that has just been premiered here in Sweden. Check out this wonderful fairytale bed with trees as the head board. I’ve always been inspired by the world of fairytales, both in terms of décor and fashion :)

sagor

some fairy eye candy :)

LOVE fairy-M

Once upon a time, there was a little girl called Maria and she loved fairytales. Her mother read scores of stories for her every day. Maria’s favourite story of all was the Swedish fairytale, Prince Hat Under the Ground. When her mother read the story aloud, Maria became completely captivated. She dreamed her way through fairytales, imagining that she was a real fairytale princess – reality was just so grey and boring.

Now Maria has grown up into a woman with a vivid imagination, and is talented at writing, drawing, and painting. She is convinced that the more fairytales young children read, the easier it is for them to learn when they are in school later in life. Maria still loves stories and daydreams often into distant lands filled with mystique and adventure. She sees life as one big fairytale: You choose the plot, the characters, and which fairytale prince to give you the ’happy ending’ that every princess deserves :)

This is the end of this fairy tale…and we all lived happily ever after.

What is your favourite fairy tale?

Ohh, I remember a thing about fairy tales: there was a book with Russian stories translated into Romanian that I heard about and one of my childhood girlfriend, actually she was also my cousin, had that book. I wanted it so much and I don’t remember exactly why my mother did not buy it for me. So I ask my aunt to buy it without telling my mother. She purchased the book for me so I could read it at school and after school my cousin was keeping it in order for my mother not to see. After a couple of weeks my mother allowed me to buy that amazing fairy tales book, but when I came home with the book there was a sign on it (my aunt wrote the date on it) so my mother found out. You know that childhood feeling that you are disappointing your parents? Well…she could have bought me that book earlier :)))) I love Charlize Theron, Maria and I can’t wait to see the movie ;) Kisses

Charlize is a good actress, the most recent film I saw in which she stars was ’Young Adult’. Loved it! Peter Pan is my all time favourite fairy tale. :)

I’ve never heard of Prince Hat Under the Ground…But I’m curious! As for fairy tales, it has to be Beauty and the Beast!

I loved this, Maria! Feel like I’m dreaming. And that bed is definitely straight out of a fairytale. I’m excited to watch Snow White and the Huntsman :)

Maria, this bed is sooooo my style. I, too, live in a sort of fairy tale land. When my children were little we used to build fairy houses in our garden and at night when they were asleep I would go outside and sprinkle the fairy house with glitter…fairy dust! I think I enjoyed this almost more than my kids!

This bedroom is a good take on Pink Princess-style bedroom. My favourite fairytale is The Twelve Dancing Princesses, but as a child in NZ it was not called this. Sorry, can’t remember the title I read, but it had ’shoes’ in it.
