Something that is really hot this year is copper and brass decor details. This trend spread like wildfire last season, and is hanging around for 2014. Shiny copper as decor details in Springtime works so well in our otherwise toned-down Scandinavian decor.
Copper and brass is a trend that is hard to get tired of, so here are some shiny decor items for you from ConfidentLiving.se… enjoy :)
Hot marble table, matches copper decor perfectly :)
Yes, grandma’s old unpolished copper kettle seems far away when you see these modern stylish decor items. Mixing furniture with materials such as marble with brass / copper looks great. The gray shading highlights the reddish tone in a delicious way, thus creating a feeling of oneness in the decor.
The name “copper” comes from the Latin cuprum – ie. the island of Cyprus. This sought after metal was discovered in prehistoric times, and is said that copper has been produced for over 5000 years.
Pure copper can be found in nature, but is most commonly found in minerals like chalcopyrite, cuprit, malachite, chalcocite and bornite. Large deposits of copper can be found in the U.S., Chile, Zambia, Zaire, Peru and Canada.
Copper clearly has many important places in society. But I must say that I prefer copper in the form of interior decoration such as a modern designer lamp or together with marble table :)
You can enjoy all the fine decorative features above HERE.
What do you think of the copper / brass trend? And have you done any copper bargain hunting yet this year?
Have a nice day sweethearts :)
