Is there anything cozier than going to a warming afternoon tea when the winter cold hits hard? I myself am a true tea lover and have therefore tried many different teas and places with Afternoon tea. Here in Gothenburg, there are starting to be more such places, which many people really like. We simply need coffee and socializing more when it’s dark, cold and freaking out.
Here you now get my tips on 5 places with Afternoon Tea in Gothenburg worth visiting!
1 Dorsia hotel afternoon tea
WORLD CLASS! Of all the Afternoon teas in Gothenburg, this one is simply the best. Just the environment makes me wax lyrical when I write right now. You NEVER want to step out of this colorful extravagant pleasure palace. The quality of their After noon tea is EVERYTHING it should be. The invitation is served by friendly staff in small batches and you won’t leave there hungry, I can say. Even the offer for gluten intolerants is beyond expectation, which is extremely rare in places in Gothenburg. EAT, enjoy and soak up a fabulous environment that you are guaranteed to remember until the end of time!
BEST – EVERYTHING! the environment, the environment and the environment. A perfectly enjoyable end to a busy Sunday shopping.
WORST – Absolutely nothing AND I’m still picky when I say that
2. Miss Ohlsson’s café afternoon tea!
Here you can enjoy home-baked goods in all its forms. The unique thing about this famous cafe is that they vary the ingredients according to season and week, but steady classics stay on the buffet table like stone-baked sourdough bread, whole wheat scones, juicy cinnamon buns, apple cake, muffins in several flavors, aged cheddar, brie, blue cheese, cream cheese, vegetables, home-cooked marmalades, lemon curd and many other good things. SEK 98 costs the whole party and only SEK 59 for the children, not often you get that much food for less than a hundred rings.
BEST – That they vary the afternoon tea menu according to season
WORST – The environment is nice but not that little luxury extra (at least for me who loves everyday luxury)
3. Eva’s Paley after noontea!
On Thursdays between 4-7pm, Evas Paley serves its popular afternoon tea buffet. On the buffet table you will find, among other things, stone oven baked sourdough bread, scones, aged cheddar, brie, green mold cheese, cream cheese, brownies, home-cooked marmalades and sometimes even cake and other pastries from their own bakery. Eat until you burst for JUST 98 riksdaler!
BEST – the price for sure
WORST – more options for gluten and lactose intolerant.
4. Hotel Eggers after noon tea
Hotel Eggers is one of Gothenburg’s oldest hotels. It is located right in the center, more precisely on Drottningtorget. They now have a well-known After noon tea on Saturdays 13-16 where everyone can come and taste the delicacies. Egger’s afternoon tea offers home-baked scones, marmalades, cream cheese, whipped butter, petit fours, lemon curds, truffles, etc. Coffee and a large buffet of loose teas.
BEST: Location, location, location as it couldn’t be more central and close to everything in town.
Worst: It’s quite a small space and can therefore get crowded quickly.
5 Afternoon tea at Riverton!
My sister and I visited this well-known place this summer to enjoy their afternoon tea. BUT we were disappointed when what was served was drier than a burned-out stick of wood. The bread was dry and the so-called the chocolate cake was clearly an old frozen cake. You could imagine for over 200 bucks that the quality of that coffee would be much better.
BUT the view is magnificent, so the surroundings can’t be complained about, they also have the bar and it never goes wrong there:)
BEST – The fantastic view over Gothenburg’s harbor entrance and Lindholmen.
WORST – Their boringly dry afternoon tea range.
