Inspiration: Outdoor furniture

When it comes to outdoor furniture and patios, we really are spoiled for choice and at times it can be hard to choose :) I think that your choice of outdoor furniture should depend upon where you live. In a modern villa, an outdoor area in a lounge style can look good, like in the first picture. If however you live in the countryside, a more rustic style is better, and preferably as natural as possible so that it merges in with the natural surroundings. I’ve long had a preference for Moroccan outdoor decor – lots of oriental cushions and cosy lanterns everywhere :)

The best thing with outdoor spaces is that it is easy to change and buy new (or old) and change the look. The details make all the difference and just a few small cushions can make a world of difference on even the most boring of balconies :) If you don’t have a balcony but instead have the advantage of having real nature as a starting point: appreciate what you have, sit back and enjoy all Summer long :)

What sort of outdoor space do you dream about???

LOVE M

I love outdoor spaces and would happily have any of those! In NY, our outdoor space (rooftop) is all about pot plants, fairy lights and candles – it complements the twinkling windows of the west village buildings we can see off to the distance.

    Hi Maria,
I think there are elements I love in all of the lovely outdoor areas you’ve pictured. I might be nervous that it was going to collapse, but the lovely old French cotbed looks gorgeous!
Outdoor dining is always special in the summer.
