Inspiration: Orangery / Gazebo

I’d like to start by reminding you all about Guest Inspiration here at inredningsvis. Do you have any pictures, text, or other inspiration you’d like to share??? Make me happy and send it in to me, so I can publish it here on the blog in the near future. It’s all about Guest inspiration :)

So Summer in Sweden hasn’t been the best this year, which is why it can be nice to be inside but outside at the same time. I’m talking about orangeries and gazebos. It’s becoming more and more popular with these traditional garden buildings. I think it’s so cosy to sit and take a coffee whilst looking out into the hand-planted greenery :)

The word orangery has its roots in the 18th century. Every manor and mansion had a beautiful little building where exotic plants were grown. The most high-status plant was the lemon tree from Italy, and the aristocracy fought to show off their luxury tree collections. In the Summer, the orangery was emptied and it was transformed into a place to hold parties and a gazebo for sensual pleasures :)

How has your Summer been so far…hot or not???

LOVE M
