Att köpa ny soffa är en av hemmets viktigaste investeringar. Många är frågorna i jakten på drömsoffan, ska du ha klassisk skinnsoffa eller trendig tresitsare med divan? Vilket material är bäst och i mitt tycke den viktigaste frågan….vilken FÄRG????
Här följer några tips inför valet av nya soffan att tillbringa många härliga myskvällar i……
Buying a new sofa is one of the most important investments in any home. There are many questions in the hunt for the dream sofa: Classic leather or trendy 3-seater with divan? Which material is best, and in my view, the most important question is….which COLOUR????
Here are some tips to help you choose your sofa to snuggle up in…

1. Komforten
Om din soffa inte bara ska vara något snyggt att se på, är det viktigt att du och resten av familjen sitter bra i den. Hur används soffan hemma??? brukar ni mest ligga eller sitta nedhasade i soffan, då är det så den ska provas. Precis som när det gäller att välja säng får man inte vara blyg i affären, av med skorna bara och kryp upp som du brukar göra hemma :)
1. Comfort
If for you your sofa isn’t just something nice to look at, it is important that you and the rest of the family are comfortable in it. How is the couch used at home?? Do you mostly lay down or sit leaning back on the couch? This should definitely be tested before you buy. Just like when it comes to choosing beds, don’t be shy in the shop. Off with the shoes and just settle back as you usually do at home :)
2. Klädseln…
…är en viktig faktor. Beroende på hur familjen ser ut krävs olika hållbarhet och tålighet. Har du små barn och husdjur – egna, eller som ofta kommer på besök – är det extra viktigt att soffan är tålig. Tygklädsel ska helst vara både tvättbar och med vändbara dynor.
Polyester, polyuretan och liknande syntetmaterial är mycket slitstarkt. Bomull är också slitstarkt men bleks med tiden av starkt solljus och bör impregneras efter en tid för att behålla sin smutsavvisande yta. Läder, anilin och semianilinläder blir ofta bara vackrare med åren, men kräver visst underhåll. FRÅGA allt du bara kan i soffbutiken de anställda är till för dig och dina soffbehov.
2. The upholstery…
…is an important factor. Depending on the family, different levels of durability are required. If you have small children and pets – your own, or other’s who often come to visit – it is especially important that the couch is durable. Fabric upholstery should ideally be both washable and reversible.
Polyester, polyurethane and other synthetic materials are highly durable. Cotton is durable but fades with time in strong sunlight. It should therefore be impregnated in oreder to retain its dirt repellent surface. Leather, aniline and semi-aniline leather becomes often more beautiful with the years, but requires some maintenance. Ask QUESTIONS about everything in the shop – the employees are there for you and your sofa needs.
3. Vilken storlek?
En soffa eller soffgrupp dominerar ofta vardagsrummet. Har du ett litet vardagsrum passar nätta modeller, gärna på ben, sittplatserna kan vara lika många ändå. Den nya soffan måste inte heller stå på samma ställe som den gamla, eller – som så ofta i svenska hem – längs med väggen. Provmöblera, i huvudet, på papper eller på nätet. Tänk också på övrig inredning och ljuset i rummet. Ska soffan smälta in eller sticka ut….bara du har svaret.
3. What size?
A couch or sofa often dominates the living room. If you have a small living room, slim models will suit better. The new couch doesn’t need to be placed in the same location as the old one, or – as so often in Swedish homes – along the wall. Test different furniture arrangements in your head, on paper or online. Consider also other fittings and the light in the room. Should a sofa blend in or stand out …. only you have the answer.
4. FÄRG
En svart soffa i ett mörkt hörn är sällan en bra idé, men har du förälskat dig kan du förstås anpassa belysningen. Var däremot försiktig med att impulsköpa den heta röda soffan du tyckte var så fin i butiken. Det kan efter en månad sluta med psykos av färgöverdos…(baserat på egen erfarenhet:) Satsta då hellre på ljus soffa och färgade kuddar som accentfärger istället.
4. COLOUR
A black sofa in a dark corner is rarely a good idea, but if you’re really in love with the idea, you can of course adjust the lighting. However, be careful not to impulse buy the hot red couch you thought looked so fine in the store. After a month it may end up being a psychosis overdose of colour … (trust me, I know ;) Rather, go with the light colored sofa and use pillows as accent colors instead.

5. Designa själv
Nästan alla soffor har olika typer av klädslar att välja på, och i dag har många möbelföretag modulsoffor du kan designa efter egen smak. Förutom formen kan du kombinera klädsel, armstöd, plymåer och ben, och tillbehör som exempelvis nackkuddar och fotpallar.
5. Design it yourself
Almost all sofas have different types of upholstery to choose from. Today, many different furniture companies have module sofas that you can design based upon your own taste. Besides shape, you can combine upholstery, armrests, back cushions, legs and even accessories like neck cushions and footstools.
6. Vilka detaljer
När drömsoffan är inköpt återstår bara detaljerna. Ska du ha runt eller fyrkantigt soffbord till?? en fåtölj eller praktiskt fotpall?? Personligen tycker jag runda små bord gör sig bäst till stor divan/hörnsoffa och fyrkantiga till den vanliga soffformen. Det som är jättesnyggt är att ha en härlig fotpall som soffbord och även praktiskt för trötta efter-jobbet-ben :)
6. The details
When the dream sofa is purchased only the details remain. Should you have round or square coffee table? An armchair and footstool? Personally I think small round tables are best suited to large divans/corner sofas and square fit better with standard sofa shapes. What looks really hot is a lovely footstool: You can use it as a coffee table and also for tired after-work legs :)

I’d love white sofa with tons of pillows. Unfortunetly my children and my dogs would too ahahahah (kidding) but it doesn’t seem pratical, living in the Country and with a Pippi Longstocking kind of girl.
Sofa has always been a tricky subject in our household. It can’t be too comfortable or my hubby will want to nap in it. It can’t be too sturdy or my daughter will want to live in it.
I’d love a grey one like the above posted. In fact I think it would be perfect in my home.
