Before and after images: A beach cottage in Australia

I really LOVE before and after posts about how to transform ugly ‘fixer-uppers’ to dream homes. That’s why I am going to start a new category here at Inredningsvis. I’ll kick off with pictures from my favorite blog right now abeachcottage.com.

Sarah, who runs the blog, moved all the way from boring, grey England to sunny Australia and began blogging about her dream house by the sea. Here you can see her once shabby abode turn into a fabulous beach cottage. We’ll start with the bedroom and finish with living room. Enjoy!

BEDROOM AFTER

This is one of the best ‘before and after’ posts I have seen. An amazing transformation in a relatively short time using relatively methods. Paint and flea market finds easily transform this room from horror-film ugly to a pastel dream bedroom with hefty WOW factor :)

Before and after pictures

As you can see from the before-pictures, these rooms had certainly seen their best days.

Worn 70’s walls and shabby old lino floors were the first to be torn out. What was done after it was to rip up all the plastic mats, sand the beautiful hardwood floors underneath, and paint all the walls in fresh white. Sarah loves the beach cottage style so many beautiful vintage finds have been added to the new rooms.

I always advocate using textiles, and in this post you will see why. You can really make AMAZING changes with just a little paint and fabrics in different materials. Big changes at home don’t always need to be expensive.

Do you have any awesome before and after pictures of rooms from your home? Send them to me HERE so that they can be featured in the blog in future posts.

Have a beautiful day!

LOVE M
