Gothenburg’s archipelago: Styrsö

We have a wonderful archipelago here on the west coast of Sweden. I was out at the islands recently and took these pictures with a simple Panasonic Lumix digital camera. Magic! :)

Facts about Styrsö

Styrsö island is classed as a suburb of Gothenburg, with much on offer. Besides beautiful late 19th Century / early 20th Century villas and nice swimming areas, there are over 40 historic sites on the island. Approximately 1,500 people live year-round on the island, with an extra 3,000 guests visiting their cottages in the Summer months. Connections between Styrsö and Gothenburg are by boat. The journey takes around 25 minutes, or 13 minutes with the fast ferries.

Hope you’re enjoying the sun. Have a great weekend!
