Autumn storms sweep in and nature and shifts to its colourful outfit. Unfortunately, many people are affected by depression when Autumn begins and Summer says farewell. Leaving aside the darkness and rain, there is a lot positive about Autumn, which is my favorite season (probably because my birthday in October :) Below are some tips for how you can have a really lovely Autumn…
9 Tips for a great Autumn
1. Cafés, cafés, cafés
Autumn is the time of the café, and we take to the coffee shops like never before. Cold wind howls outside, but what is cozier than a cup of hot coffee or tea with some good friends. If you are alone in the cafe, good friends can be replaced with a good book :)
Get rid of Winter depression and go off like a genuine shoppahollic to your favorite mall… personally, nothing makes my day brighter than some serious Chanel shopping :)
3. Sleeping in
In the Autumn, you can take a long sleep in without guilt and stress that you MUST be out in the warmth. According to Ayurveda, Winter is Vata and a time for rest. We humans are just too bad at following seasonal rhythms.
4. Bake a cake
Why not use the many Autumn nature’s delights? Make lovely muffins and pies of different berries and fruits. Leftovers can be frozen and used in Winter.
5. Cuddle with your cuties
Pets can also get a little Autumn depression so take the opportunity to cuddle a little extra with them. Maybe surprise them with some new food….. miawww …. woof woof :)
6. Take a makeup course
In the winter, skin changes colour and you need new makeup to match a paler tone. Take your best friend and go to a makeup course. Talented makeup artists will give you personal tips and advice. Nothing makes you smile more than seeing a fresh new face in the mirror tomorrow :)
7. Use nature
Make beautiful ornaments from natural materials to give away to other people. The nature offers a colourful splendour so take the opportunity to do something nice.
8. Use a LOT candles in your house
Is there anything cozier than eating dinner by candlelight? Make sure to have MANY candles on dark winter evenings. Light a fire in the fireplace to warming the romance factor. If you don’t have a real fireplace, there are beautiful fake fireplaces, as in the picture above :)
9. Last but not least
WALK OUTSIDE..even though it may feel like hard work in the Autumn storms, it is important to get daylight to bring up vitamin D in the body. Take a long walk and enjoy nature’s mighty colourful game on a sunny Autumn day, and the darkness is immediately far away :)
